Is there a free SignUpGenius alternative without ads?
Yes. ChooseASquare Signups is free for one active signup of up to 25 spots, and there is no advertising on the sign-up page on any plan — including the free one. Pro Commissioner ($9.95/month or $99.50/year) raises it to five signups at once with unlimited spots and lets you email the people on them.
Do volunteers need an account to sign up?
No. They tap the squares they want, type a name and email once, and they are done. An account is optional — there is a checkbox if they want one so their details fill themselves in next time — and if they are already signed in, their name and email are filled in already.
Can somebody sign up for their spouse or another parent?
Yes. Any spot can be claimed for someone else by name, and it shows on the board under that person rather than under whoever booked it. It can be changed afterwards.
Can I message everyone who signed up?
Yes, on Pro Commissioner and Organization. Filter the list by group, by spot or by status — everyone on Saturday, everyone bringing an item, everyone on the waiting list — and email just those people. Confirmations and the two automatic reminders go out on every plan, free included.
Can I move an existing sign-up sheet over?
Build the groups and spots in the editor — it takes a few minutes for a typical event — and share the new link. Anyone who already committed can be added by hand, and nobody you invite has to create an account.
