Why it is called ChooseASquare

Tap the squares. Type your name once.

Most sign-up sheets are a wall of rows, and taking on four things means filling in the same form four times. Here every open spot is a square. Pick the Friday shift, two cases of water and the Saturday gate — across different days and different jobs — then enter your details one time for all of it.

  • Open squares are the loud ones — the page’s job is to get them filled
  • Claim as many as you like, then one short form at the end
  • Already signed in? Your name and email are filled in for you
  • Signing up for your spouse or another parent takes one more tap
  • Your own squares stay marked when you come back to the page

Made for whoever got volunteered

Great for teachers, clubs and organizers.

You should not need a manual to organize a bake sale. Build it in a few minutes, share one link, and let the reminders do the chasing.

Teachers & room parents

Conference slots, class party supplies, reading volunteers, field-trip chaperones.

Coaches & team managers

Concession shifts, snack rota, gate duty, field set-up and tear-down, tournament help.

Churches & clubs

Greeters, nursery, meal trains, service projects, festival booths.

Booster clubs & nonprofits

Event volunteers, donation drives, silent-auction help — alongside the fundraiser itself.

Three kinds of spot

People, or things people bring.

A shift is one square per position. An item is a quantity, so somebody can take three cases of water in a single tap without pretending to be three volunteers.

People

Shifts

Four people on Friday clean-up, two on the gate at 6pm. One square per position — when they are gone, they are gone.

Quantity

Items

Twelve cases of water, twenty dozen cookies. Somebody can take three of them in one tap without holding a "shift".

People

Time slots

Conference slots, photo sessions, tryout times — a square per slot, each with its own start and finish.

Building it

Groups first, then the spots under them.

Make your groups — by day, by job, by station — and add the spots beneath each one. The day belongs to the group, so you set it once instead of on every row, and a live preview shows exactly what your volunteers will see while you type.

  • A description on any spot, for the job nobody has done before
  • An address on the event, a group or a single spot — it opens in maps
  • A waiting list you switch on for the spots that deserve one
  • Your own photo and a welcome message above the board
  • Public, or open only to your organization’s members

The part that eats your evening

Stop chasing people by text.

Everyone gets a confirmation the moment they sign up, a reminder two days before their spot and another three hours before it — on every plan, free included. Move a shift and the reminder re-arms for the new time, because the time in everyone’s head is now wrong.

  • Confirmation, 2-day and 3-hour reminders, sent automatically
  • Email your list filtered by group, spot or status (Pro)
  • Everyone on Saturday, everyone bringing an item, everyone waitlisted
  • A roster you can check people in on, and export to CSV

Pricing

Free is a real plan, not a trial.

Ad-free, on the free plan too.

The sign-up page is the page your families see. We do not sell space on it — not on Pro, and not on free either.

FAQ

The questions organizers actually ask.

Is it really free?

Yes. The free plan runs one signup at a time with up to 25 spots, and it is not a trial. Confirmations, the automatic reminders, the waiting list, guest sign-up and the roster export are all included on it. Pro Commissioner ($9.95/month or $99.50/year) runs five at once with unlimited spots and lets you email the people on them.

Do volunteers need an account?

No. They open the link, tap the squares they want, type a name and email once, and they are done. There is an optional checkbox if they want a free account so their details fill themselves in next time, and anyone already signed in has theirs filled in already.

Are there ads on the sign-up page?

Never — on any plan, including the free one. The page your families land on carries your event and nothing else. On the Organization plan it carries your logo, your colours and your font as well.

Can one person sign up for several spots at once?

That is the point of the board. Tap the Friday clean-up shift, two cases of water and the Saturday gate — different days, different jobs — and enter your details one time for all of them.

Can I sign somebody else up?

Yes. Any spot can be claimed on behalf of another person by name, and it shows on the board under their name rather than under whoever booked it. It can be changed afterwards.

Does it remind people?

Automatically, on every plan. A confirmation the moment somebody signs up, then a reminder two days before their spot and another three hours before it. If you move a shift, the reminder re-arms for the new time — because the time in everyone’s head is now the wrong one.

What happens when a spot fills up?

You decide per spot. A shift can take a waiting list so somebody is ready when a volunteer drops out; "bring a dozen cookies" usually should not, because a queue for a thing anyone could also bring is a queue for nothing.

Can I see and export who signed up?

Yes. The roster shows everyone by group and spot with their status, you can check people in on the day, and the whole thing exports to CSV on every plan.

Get the shifts filled without sending forty texts.

Build it in a few minutes, share one link, and let the squares and the reminders do the rest.
