How a Calendar Fundraiser works
A calendar fundraiser turns a single month into an easy giving campaign: supporters pick days on a calendar and chip in the value of each date — the 12th is $12, the 25th is $25 — and you raise toward a goal. Here’s how it works and how to run one.
What is a calendar fundraiser?
Also called “Choose A Date,” a calendar fundraiser asks supporters to claim days of the month and give the dollar amount of each date they pick. Pick the 5th, 12th and 20th and you give $5 + $12 + $20. There’s no game and no luck — it’s a simple, visual way for a team, class or club to hit a goal, with a progress meter everyone can watch fill up.
How it works
Say a supporter picks three dates:
A full month adds up to roughly $465–$496 if every day is claimed — and you can run one calendar per seller to multiply that across your whole roster.
Why it works for fundraising
- Tiny asks add up: most people happily grab a few dates for the price of a coffee.
- A visible goal meter creates momentum — supporters love watching it fill.
- Give each seller their own calendar and link, and a little leaderboard competition raises far more.
- No prizes to buy, no inventory, no event to host — it’s pure margin for your cause.

Calendar raffle vs. Choose-A-Date
A heads-up on terminology: a “cash calendar,” “gun calendar” or “calendar raffle” usually means a daily-drawing raffle where one ticket wins a prize each day. ChooseASquare’s Calendar Fundraiser is the goal-based Choose-A-Date model above — supporters pick dates and give the date’s value, with no daily prize draw. If you want a numbered-ticket raffle with periodic drawings instead, that’s our Century Club.
Running it the easy way
ChooseASquare gives every seller their own calendar and link, tallies pledges automatically, shows live goal progress, and lets supporters pay you directly — you keep every dollar. Want a game-based fundraiser instead? Pair it with Football Squares or a Pick’Em and add the Fundraising module.
